Submission of women and bipolar?
I am a 34yo woman with bipolar, PM-dd, and dissociative disorder. I'm also a submissive woman seriously. My question is: Is there a connection between the 2. When I'm being punished or disciplined i am able to bring my episodes under control much easier. The higher the episode harsh punishment is needed. Before any of you say anything to my husband not being used or push anything. I chose this life before I met him and he needed to click to get to where we are. He does nothing that I have allowed him to do. I would like information on websites and so far as I read on the subject. BTW that is not only sexual submission. It's 24 / 7 presentation.
Okay first, lets move from theory of child abuse, which is not found and no answer to this question. While I can not really say that BDSM is the best survival mechanism or therapy for what you have listed I can say that there are far worse coping mechanisms and if this is what works for you then I can not say I'm surprised. Be submissive and to be controlled is an option that many people have used to find the balance and some semblance of stability in their lives by giving up the control to another person. In addition, corporal punishment serves as a catharsis and a release, whereas it is much safer than many of the dangerous coping mechanisms (drugs, alcohol, physical mutilation) is still unfortunately similar in effect and outcome of So, please carefully. Regarding your specific question, it may be due to the cause and effect, basically, disorders of the experience they give a reason stability and control and being submissive gives you what you need but there are no legitimate studies proving any connection at this time. Finally, while I am an advocate BDSM strong to facilitate the life of a person, when it comes to it, BDSM is not a proven treatment so far should not be used in place of the therapy.
