anxiety and depression in children

It's been called "the fountain of youth" and "wonder supplement." But what is and what it does?

What I am referring to is DHEA, also known as dehydroepiandrosterone. It is a precursor of the steroid hormone produced by the adrenal glands, ovaries, testes and brain.

It has many functions including reverse insulin resistance, increase strength and energy, improves immunity, improves well-being, decreases body fat, lowers triglycerides and cholesterol, increases bone density, increases serotonin levels, improves sleep, and normal levels correlate with a lower risk of cardiovascular disease.

Symptoms of DHEA deficiency are fatigue, tiredness, decreased ability to handle stress, impaired immunity, impaired memory, decreased sex drive, depressed mood and lack of vitality.

Before assessing the need for DHEA supplements would be useful to have some understanding of their role. The steroid hormone pathways are well catabolic, causing degradation or anabolic resulting in the accumulation. Both pathways are necessary and work best when balanced.

Cholesterol is the fundamental substance of which are steroid hormones. Cholesterol is converted into a substance called pregnenalone which then becomes progesterone catabolic pathway then turned on the cortisol stress hormone. Also can be converted into DHEA in the anabolic pathway (accumulation) and then converted into testosterone and estrogen.

When we are in prolonged or stress chronic anxiety that most pregnenalone movements through the catabolic pathway cause a slow and steady breakdown of the body. Little, if any, of the pregnenalone DHEA becomes to navigate through the anabolic pathway or accumulation. This can lead to functional and degenerative conditions and diseases.

DHEA supplementation may be necessary to balance these channels temporarily. However, the exact test should be done first. Saliva testing of hormones is the most necessary.

Although DHEA is available over the counter, the doses are too high and can cause serious problems. They are usually found in 25 mg and 50 tablets. The Women should have no more than 6-8 mg / day in divided doses, while men should have no more than 16-20mg per day in a divided dose. Do not take more than 3 to 6 months.

As with DHEA supplements and many, more is better not.

DHEA should never be taken without appropriate support adrenal. The goal would be restore and balance your endocrine system so you can resume normal operation, not to create dependencies.

DHEA sublingual in small doses can be more effective way of understanding, not in tablet or capsule. It can be a valuable tool to help you overcome stress, anxiety, fatigue and depression.
