anxiety and depression relief
depression, social anxiety disorder, ocd. would you wanna know?
Ive posted a couple times on here about depression, social anxiety etc. and although there’s always temporary relief from the very thoughtful answers people provide, there’s always a diagnosis or a ‘go seek help’ answers. Im not saying I dont need it, but fact is I just dont want to go find out. I dont want to have that in my cabinet. I mean, I used to be super confident, funny and seemed to attract people, but now (and Im just 21) I have started to notice all of these social anxieties, self conciousness etc. and can I be ‘that guy’? Im single and I dont want a g/f with those problems, what girl wants a guy with them?
I’ve ignored, denied, suffered through, taken medication for, and met with a therapist over depression for a number of years. There were times that I was able to get myself through it with increased activity and change in diet and involving myself in church and prayer. But those periods did not ever last. I finally know that I need to take medication consistantly and see a therapist when I get overwhelmed. So, like others apparently have in the past, I would suggest you at least find a couselor for some guidance.
I do not have social anxiety disorder or ocd, but I do know how debilitating those can be. Again, a counselor could give you some help with those areas.
I do not think you are destined for a life alone because of these issues–many, many others have problems and have a husband or significant other in their lives, BUT I do think your relationships will suffer without help.
