Bipolar spouse?
Has anyone ever been married to a bipolar person who fell into a hypersexual addiction. How did you deal with it and what was the outcome of your marraige? My wife is now out of the house…gave up the kids fairly easliy and rareley sees them. She fell into cybersexual/phone sex/ online chatting on cam wiht no clothes on addiction and claims to love every single dude she does it with. Some of these guys are under 18 and she is 34. I field for divorce 3 months ago. I am hoping for the ebst not only for her but for our family but I would like to know if any of you ever had trouble wiht a bipolar spouse who fell into the same sort of addictions. She also drinks heavily
Hypersexuality is a symptom of bipolar. Although not all bipolars become hypersexual, it is common enough. When I read your post it made me think of a woman who frequents a biplar forum that I built. Her story sounds almost exactly like your story with your wife. She messed around in a very big way and ultimately destroyed her marriage.
My wife has periods where she thinks about sex constantly, though is able to control herself. She is BP1, rapid cycling with mixed episodes. Since she had finally gotten her meds right, everything else has fallen into check too.
Being married to a bipolar person can be very challenging. The instances of divorce are very high among relationships where one or both partners are bipolar. 80% comes to mind, but I can not remember where I read that.
