How likely is it that my future child will inherit bipolar disorder?
my future husband has bipolar / anxiety and anger problems. How likely is that my children inherit these issues? I have anxiety too. is 100% which will have mental problems?
If a parent has the disease, then the risk is around 5 percent. Let's also put this in perspective: bipolar genetic heritability is less than many cancers, but no one advised people who do not play in the event that happens in their risk of cancer.
