bipolar at work
What legal help and advice is available to me at work as an employee? I am a staff member at a university.?

Recently quit a job due to mental illness (bipolar disorder). My bosses are offering an 'agreement' that for all intents and purposes appears to be a severance package. However, my psychiatrist tells me to withdraw my resignation as I was not of sound mind and body when there was the long-term disability and complaint instead. Need to talk to someone at work or elsewhere and get advice on what are my rights and what to do, but I'm not sure who to contact?

Does your employer provide disability insurance long term for you? if not then take the LTD provide severance pay and the file immediately Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI). while envisaging LTD follow their doctors advice. the doctor will have to fill out some forms for you to even get the process initiated (a statement that you did not know what he was doing when he resigned). The University has a department of human resources that can help you get started with this and provide the forms you need. there are parts of the claim form to complete and the parties to complete and then forward them to the company insurance long term disability. Most likely (if LTD) its long term will pay up to 60% of their normal salary usually in 2 years time is likely to suspend payments. If you are found to be incapacitated and can not perform any work on social security disability is an option you have. (in a case like that the insurance company asks for the file from the social security disability at some point near the end of the benefit period). probably will a group of lawyers is limited to social security disability that will not be charged, but is paid retroactively to receive benefits and that there was to the insurance company. If you go this route for archiving LTD immediately and as soon as you receive a check of response in the presentation of SSDI. SSDI is a long process that takes years, if you wait until your file has expired LTD 2-3 years with no income can await the start. ask the insurance company about filing SSDI is not expected to bring up.
