bipolar foods to avoid

Any books or super foods recommended for someone who may have moderate depression?

I have been feeling run down and tired. My doctor did a battery of bloodwork and only found my iron levels were a little low but not anything major. He suggested that maybe I should go on antidepressants. Bipolar, depression and anxiety runs on my mother’s side of the family. I am a vegetarian and had a rather healthy lifestyle until motherhood and stressful situations have taken me off course. I am always tired, irritable and can’t sleep well at night. I want to avoid getting severely depressed but I also want to do this naturally. Any recommendations?

There is a site: www.alternativementalhealth.COM (not to be confused with the same name .ORG – use the .COM one). This site gives a bunch of information.

As for another suggestion (based on personal experiences):
I’m not sure how old your little one is, but as you know, they definitely can take a lot out of you. And, on top of it, if you’re eating healthy – but not quite the right foods, you can really become run down and tired. A good chiropractor / nutritionalist / kinesthesiologist can help find if you have any particular food allergies (like soy (bad thing), wheat, dairy or sugar). This same person can recommend some good suppliments to help you. I think this would help you accomplish what you want to do naturally.

Otherwise do what you can to STAY AWAY from anti-depressants. www.cchr.org will tell you why.

Best of luck to you.
