bipolar girl missing
A question about bipolar and evasion during a depressive episode?
My BF is long distance and was diagnosed bipolar as well (as medicines). He recently been through a traumatic stress (a friend tried to commit suicide) and has gone to a depressive episode. He has been avoiding all my phone calls and emails … except I think he's talking with many new girls in your social network page. Recently, I sent an e-mail saying he does not know what is going and misses me. He asked if I was seeing someone else. I told him I was not .. said it was and has been very sad … then began to avoid it again. I do not understand bipolar at all. During a severe depressive state that anyone ignore the people who are around and have random chats with strangers? I know you're chatting online, I see signs on your page. Please answer only if you understand bipolar … I'm very confused now. Thank you.

Perhaps easier for him to share his feelings with people who do not know. I'm not bipolar, but have been diagnosed with depression. I know when I've been very depressed, I avoided family and friends because it took too much energy to interact with them, even by telephone. I feel like I had to act happy around them, in order not to make fall to talk about my own songs. But online, people do not know, so do not have to act a certain way for certain people. There is a high degree of anonymity to be online and talk to people … therefore there is less need to act a certain way. Good luck with this.
