bipolar having a baby

Can there be a change from baby to chemicals in the brain?
All right during my pregnancy I had to stop taking medication for my bipolar and I felt good and I learned how to deal without me want to be able to live without most of the medicines I took, although it was not for bipolar that was for me PTSD (PTSD) My therapist, even spoke to me and said, finally going to have to learn to live my life without medicine and my dad is scizzophrenic that could have been caused by her mother die a horrible death when he was 17 years some say he was murdered some say he committed suicide. Well I want to know is if his mental illness could have been caused by this traumatic event or if it's genetic? and if it is genetic what are the chances that I have my dad is the only one who has, to my knowledge?
To answer your question first, having a baby can definitely handle chemicals and hormones in your body. As schizophrenia is, some reasearchers tend to believe that it may be related to a gene. But this does not mean they necessarily have schizophrenia. Some people tend to believe that you have a probability of 10% higher than schizophrenia then the normal population. Much of what I tend to believe is what is happening with chemicals in the brain. Whether or not getting enough of certain neurotransmitters. I heard that too much dopamine can cause illnesses such as schizophrenia .. but its too hard to say at this point. The bottom line is that you need to talk to someone who knows more about chemicals and medications that may help. In some cases of mental illness not only from their traumatic experiences that cause these diseases, which really has to do with a chemical imbalance. If that's the case, then the medication to control this imbalance would be the only way to go. Instant messaging is not an expert, I am just someone who reads on a lot of different things. Please consult a physician for the good of their health and their babies. Better to be safe then sorry.
