bipolar hear voices

What are good self-help for psychosis / bipolar?
I suffer from something that my doctor will not give a name, but says it is probably something biplor related psychotic disorder and is definitely (well, I see things and hear voices, so it should be). Is there anything I can do when I begin to see things and get the thoughts that I want to hurt people or myself?
This disease is difficult to treat. In most cases, bipolar disorder is much better controlled if treatment is continuous. Drugs used to treat psychosis are often referred to as major tranquilizers. Its main action, however, not cause the tranquility or sedation, but to reduce or completely eliminate psychotic symptoms and behavior. These anti-psychotic drugs appear to act by blocking chemical receptors in the brain which are normally connected via the chemical neurotransmitter called dopamine. Medications may include chlorpromazine (Thorazine) things or haloperidol (Haldol). When one wants to hurt people or yourself, you can try to find other, the intense feeling of doing. Like eating sour candy, or clinging to the ice cubes. A friend of mine draw their feelings that run in very cold water. There are non-physical forms to manage feelings – talking with a friend, writing on it, creating or playing music, playing with clay, playing with sand, sing … …. Getting enough sleep helps keep a stable mood in some patients like you. A doctor or a psychiatrist will help develop a treatment plan that best serves you.
