bipolar in children under 10
Please help me with my problem?

My sister was married to a very bad man. she stayed with him for 16 years, she has 2 kids under the age of 10 with him ,recently she moved to another state with him away from her family and he started treating her very bad (his family was telling him to do so).my sister was in a very stressful situation she became bipolar ( a mental illness that she never had) .and when she became sick with this illness he threw her out and took a restrain order on her because she became violent ,he divorced her ,she had know choice but to move back with my family (in another state) now he is not letting her talk to her kids on the phone and he took the full custody of the children. she is getting treatment now and she misses her kids very much i feel powerless about this and i am very sad and i cant do anything , what is your opinion please about this problem?

You are powerless. Sorry. Your sister is the only one that has any control over this. Are you sure that she is bi-polar? that is not really a very common illness. If she truly is, and is on meds, then she needs to get her life back together, then fight for her kids. courts do not take kids away from their parents often, so she will get some rights if she is stable.

Which children are at risk for bipolar disorder?
