Is anyone taking only Lamictal for Bipolar I?
I just started Lamictal as monotherapy, and hope it works. Until recently, I was taking lithium and Lamictal but my doctor said he believed that Lamictal alone can work and would be healthier for me long term. I hope it works because Side effects are much less problematic. It's been 4 days and so far is working well. Began to increase my Lamictal lithium when I stopped, so I'm a little more tired than usual, but I feel better than when I was also taking lithium.
I am the posterchild for Lamictal! I LOVE IT! Effects zero side and saved my life. I am only the Lamictal, and a year ago, but now I realize I need something else in addition somtehing. So I'm leaving Abilify to deal with my mania and delusions and add it to your Lamictal Lamictal is excellent for depression, but semi-okay for mania. Other drugs such as lithium for mania is better, but in reality are terrible, as you are aware. It is better to stay with Lamictal and then, if you're too depressed to add a SSRIs, or if you are really manic, adding an antipsychotic. If only Lamictal works for you, great.
