I can not say that hypomania was a problem when I lived. Hypomania state is essentially a very rapid productivity and fast. When I was hypomanic, talked fast, walked fast, quick thinking, he worked quickly, and did almost everything else faster. You do not need much sleep. I could handle several tasks at once without any problems. I was optimistic, enthusiastic, relentlessly optimistic and confident. Honestly, for me, hypomania is a wonderful state. Some suffer from bipolar II disorder, however, experience extreme agitation in hypomania.

Unfortunately for me and others with bipolar disorder II, that the experience of the UP-side of hypomania, hypomania does not last. Due to the cyclical nature of bipolar II, hypomania is always followed by a crash in mood. Hypomania always lead to a major depressive episode.

Major depressive episode is essentially just a fancy word for depression. When you have a major depressive episode, who is seriously depressed. The symptoms are the same as for depression clinic. These symptoms are:

– Decreased interest in life.
– Feelings of sadness, tension or irritability.
– Loss of energy.
– Change in appetite.
– Change in sleep patterns.
– Feeling of anxiety.
– Feeling slowed down.
– Decrease the ability to make decisions.
– Lack of concentration.
– Feelings of worthlessness or guilt.
– Feelings of hopelessness.
– Thoughts of suicide or death.

The major depressive episode is the downside of bipolar II, in more ways than one. Not only is the lowering of mood, is the cost of having as UPS great product. Although you can get a lot when performed in the phase of bipolar II and also can feel wonderful, you pay dearly for these benefits. You pay with a major depressive episode.

The disadvantage of bipolar II is what makes it so painful mental disorder. Falling out of a glorious past and high of ecstasy in a place of helplessness can be devastating. Recognizing both hypomania and fall of a major depressive episode is key to understanding the symptoms of bipolar II disorder.
