bipolar marriage
What can I do to help my cousin? She is bipolar and has anxiety disorder.?

My cousin is only 35 years old. She has 4 children. She has been a stay at home mom for 16 years and were married very young. Her husband left her after 16 years of marriage. She only worked sporadically as her husband was quite sure that you stay home and raise their children and did a very good salary to support them. She only receives child support Minimum and spousal very little now. She was diagnosed 5 years ago as bipolar II and have an anxiety disorder. While she has been prescribed medication, have problems with the side effects of some of them and also have trouble affording them every month. Her disorder made it difficult to maintain a full time job. ELLA NOT lazy. She loves herself and her children, but it's hard with their mental disorders. What kind of aid could benefit from it? Whether short or long term. Can you qualify for SS disability? How long since she has not worked much outside the home in the past?

Hmm, well, to apply for disability or something along those lines you need to contact your State Department of labor and usually they do is if they qualify should refer to their psychological examination. After the report was resubmitted to the Department of Labor and then decide if they qualify or not based on the report. It is difficult to find employment for people with disorder bipolar II, but there are agencies in every state who care for people with certain personality types, try to look at that. She must also be consistent with their medication. If she does not take it, is likely to hurt her than help her. Although side effects, most drugs have side effects. That's really the only way they can help themselves and their children, is to take your medication. And to go to therapy? That could be another option too. Usually the medication is perscribed in relation to individual therapy. I hope that helps some. Good luck!
