Coping with manic depression, also known as bipolar disorder, can be a real challenge for the individual suffering from the disease. It is difficult for the person suffering with it, and those around them. Knowing that his condition has serious effects on loved ones, may even serve to worsen the conditions. Knowing what expect from their illness and planning methods to cope with the symptoms goes a long way to relieve stress and anxiety of this serious disease.

First step: Knowing that a disease. Manic depression is not a personal deficiency. It's not something you choose to have. You're not feeling sorry for yourself. You action are not over. You can live a wonderful, live happy and productive in dealing with bipolar disorder. Your friends and family will be with you on your journey and can be independent and enjoy the world again with a little planning.
