bipolar meds during pregnancy
ok so i just found out i am pregnant and…?
i have been taking lexapro abilify busbar and ambien for bipolar disorder. my doctor told me that its up to me rather i continue my meds or not, he said that there is no scientific evidence of fetal harm with any of these meds but its still considered a class C drug.. so i am wondering what anyone may have to say about the risks of these meds during pregnancy verses the risks involved with bi polar disorder?
This is a question only you can answer. I have general anxiety disorder and on 20m of lexapro. My dose is high because because I am unemployed an was getting sick all the time due to my allergies and ETD.Now I am feeling better an know my health insurance kicks in March 1st I am confident I can control my anxiety with self talk like I did from age 9-27. I would slowly wean yourself off of what you think you can be live without. Do not go cold turkey! You may need all the meds but you may be able to go with out one.Doses should get cut in half first an see if you are still ok.

You may need to see both an OBGYN and a psychiatrist who has helped women with Bipolar and pregnant.
