bipolar ocd symptoms
Auditory hallucinations are a symptom of bipolar disorder?
My mom has bipolar disorder and have read it is genetic. I most of symptoms to the time and decided to try to self diagnose me … I like phychiatrists … anyway … I have auditory hallucinations sometimes so I wanted to know if this can be a symptom of bipolar symptoms or maybe something a little more. They usually do not concern myself with labeling something as abstract as my own thought processes …. but … I was curious. I've also been diagnosed with OCD … if that means anything …
Yes Hallucinations are nonspecific and may occur in a wide variety of disorders. Whoever said "any hallucinations of any type is schizophrenia" is totally misinformed. They have to start reading the DSM-IV. The most common causes of auditory hallucinations is schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, bipolar disorder and psychotic depression. Sometimes it may be caused by other things though. When hallucinations occur in bipolar disorder that are associated with symptoms of a manic, mixed or depressive.
