Artist types and mental disorders?

I read this book on personality types and calls him a certain percentage (I do not remember exactly, but I was too big) of the types of artists, creative outthinkers mental disorders, mainly bipolar. If this is true, why is that the rates artists such as musicians, writiers, and painters tend to these disorders? To be honest, I'm a little worried about this because my girlfriend thinks I'm bipolar. I'm kind of interested in how, if true, my interest in art is connected to this possibility? I know that if I am bipolar, not because I make art, I wonder how two may be connected.

There are a number of reasons. Usually people with OCD – obsessive compulsive disorder. and bipolar disorder who are creative. The first reason is that the things that (I have OCD) due to mental illness, are by the way we think. We think differently than people without mental illness. So that kind of cause to be creative. The second reason is that the disturbances which have a lot of drama in our lives. And people tend to turn the tragedy into art. It is this quote: "Thanks for the drama. I needed for my art." We also need to be creative to do all these strange ways of making ourselves miserable. Good luck. Irina
