1) If the idea of suicide comes into your mind then call 1-800-SUICIDE.
2) Call a friend. Find someone to talk to. It may often be difficult because of the shame of telling someone that you have been diagnosed with bipolar disorder as well as the shame that can come along with the feeling of helplessness. 7) Understand that you have a disease and not their fault. Many times people with bipolar are associated with a madman who must be locked in a mental institution. This is absolutely not!
