bipolar psychotic symptoms

Why is my brother like this?

I'm female, 17. Diagnosed with bipolar I disorder with rapid cycling and psychotic symptoms. Ha been hard for me, especially since the medication is not helping my depression, only my psychotic symptoms. … But basically, my brother still fighting with my mother and told me that the doctor made a mistake and only have depression and I am an "attention whore". Chance takes up in fights. It is helping me at all. I take my medicine and try to deal with my life. I had to be removed from the normal school, too. It's like having sympathy by everyone except me. I mean, s 21 and moocher of my parents, and he thinks his opinion is the most important one. It's not a doctor however, appears to act as he is. Why can not it just my doctor and leave it at that? Why must we go through this with him? I hate to sound selfish, but I enough problems as it is and that is only worse.

First, I'm sorry about your diagnosis – This is a difficult disease to adjust to. I have two friends bipolar disorder – a very mild symptoms and one has bipolar disorder I. The first thing I suggest is to actively avoid the "fight" in which his brother is one of the participants. If you have a disagreement with his mother and his brother decide to contribute, to tell his mother, "We will continue this in my room and head from your room without saying a word. Since some of the symptoms of his illness are paranoia, irritability and hostility, not always in a state of mind which describes correctly judge the circumstances – this creates its' own challenges and I think you should ask your parents to have a family meeting about their illness and how the symptoms that occur during their life cycles affect his brother and each of their parents. It is important that everyone contributes to this and his brother asked how feel about their illness than do most parents focus on you and whether or not he believes his disease is affecting their relationships outside the home. He needs be told that their illness is not something that has caused stressful situations worsen your symptoms (the support of loved ones is crucial to preventing episodes largest) and that bipolar patients are at high risk of suicide. You also need to know what's expected to keep their medical opinions "to himself earning a medical degree, it will take a while for her medication to 'Kick in and that there will be adjustments along the way. I hope is under the care of a psychiatrist who is the person best qualified to cope with the condition – this is not something your family doctor has been trained to treat so you need to consult with your psychiatrist in relation to the best medications for you to be taking.
