For a sober person in remission from bipolar disorder, alcohol consumption causes a bipolar episode?
Having an alcoholic drink not necessarily trigger an event bi-polar (either mania or depression) in itself. It's probably OK to have wine with dinner, for example. But, a bi-polar crashed just asking for trouble. Any antidepressant medication is mixed with large amounts of alcohol can cause big problems. If I was bi-polar, I want to avoid alcohol together. Just not worth it. Be a hero and be the designated driver in place.
