The importance of recognizing the symptoms of bipolar disorder, until recently known as Manic Depression, can not be overestimated.
Severe bipolar disorder may sometimes misdiagnosed as schizophrenia. Hallucinatory and delusional episodes may accompany the condition that the patient may appear very real. Even people with major depression may experience hallucinations and delusions, but unless the case is extreme, the patient is well aware that these are not real.
People with serious disorder bipolar and schizophrenia, especially the latter, are not so fortunate. Their visions delusions are very real to them. There we have the first difficulty in diagnosis. It is very easy, just spend the condition of schizophrenia. So manic and depressive symptoms should be explored. Here are seven of the most important.
The first symptom is euphoria in the manic state, followed by its opposite condition in the depressed state of sadness and anxiety, usually over a period prolonged. Now you can have a few days, while the pendulum swings from one state to another, or can occur overnight.
The second symptom in the state Manic is talking very fast, due to the acceleration of thinking through the patient's head. Unfortunately, they rarely make much sense, because of their speed, corresponding mess and the disparate nature. Then the changes of the disease back to where the patient feels hopeless and constantly pessimistic. The thoughts, if he or she has, are covered by clouds too thick to penetrate.
Manic symptoms The third is the extreme power, when the patient is hyperactive. They tend to run around, putting her hands on any work that seems to be done and refuses to rest, because they say they do not need. Then comes again the pendulum of age, and found the poor person in a state of constant fatigue, will not, in fact, sometimes not, to rise from their beds.
Then comes manic state's fourth, titled by some as "overly aggressive behavior. I prefer to call their "load making stage ', I think, with all respect, to be a bit more accurate. They think they know better and should be the leader in any enterprise. This phase can be, if not disastrous, then decidedly embarrassing, because, of course, his thoughts are still jumbled and unclear. The depressive state produces feelings of guilt and worthlessness, as opposed to his "get charge "of the state.
The fifth state is similar in that their hobby has to believe that conditions have unrealistic abilities. Needless to say, must be seen like a hawk during these episodes. I would say otherwise would be the depression state of insomnia or sleeping too much.
Manic symptoms sixth finds them becoming very irritable. This is probably caused because they realize, deep down, that none of their alleged "skills" to submit any reality. At the time, pursues his depressive state with constant pain. Everything hurts and pains and probably the best they can do is shuffle around.
The manic state seventh sees the patient to fall into denial. There is nothing wrong with them, so what's the fuss about? The depressive state may bring more serious trend of all. Thoughts of suicide.
Running through the middle of all this, so to speak, we have a condition known as hypomania. This, strictly itself can be an excellent condition. The thoughts of a person to act quickly, but with much more meaning and accuracy. The victims, if that's the word correct this condition, have often been known to make a first class job, so in the face of it, hypomania is eminently desirable. Except for one thing.
If you have this condition, then you are almost certain manic sensitive to the proposals that can become Full Blown bipolar disorder, with all its complications. So lovely as this condition may seem at first glance, a visit to a psychiatrist would only be prudent to discuss the probability and use the word advisedly, to develop a bipolar disorder. It is a pity, but hypomania is hidden thorns.
