"Teens opposition" refers to teenagers and adolescents diagnosed with "oppositional defiant disorder, often abbreviated as "weird".
These are children who take the standard limit of the test and drawing away from the processes of parents who are normal and desirable, to end that can convert your home before happy in a war zone of conflict and upset.
Apparently out of control most of the time, they refuse to obey orders or requests from parents or other adults. They are aggressive and stubborn and rigid, and out of their way to irritate and annoy others. They are always losing his temper, discussing, and refuses to comply. They can be very manipulative. They are delicate and easily angered and tend to blame others for their misconduct and errors.
Sometimes This behavior is new, and sometimes an escalation of a pattern in evidence since the child was a toddler.
It is not entirely clear what is the cause of ODD. One theory suggests that development is simply incomplete, and that the child never successfully completed the development tasks that normally dominates as a child small. The leading theory holds that the other disorder is a learned response to negative interactions and unpleasant that the child has had with parents and other authority figures.
Oppositional Defiant Disorder usually does not occur alone. It is estimated that 50-65% of ODD adolescents also have ADD or ADHD. Many have learning difficulties or mood disorders such as anxiety or depression, or bipolar disorder.
A child with ODD should certainly be evaluated for co-existing or underlying conditions. It is easy to imagine that a child with a learning disability can be very frustrated and that frustration comes out as anger and defiance. Thus, the key to treating ODD understanding and treatment of underlying or co-existing causes.
It is important to deal with ODD, because a percentage significant opposition adolescents have increased their behavior to the point where they are diagnosed with ODD, will intensify even more, and be diagnosed with Conduct Disorder (CD). Conduct disorder is essentially a worst case of ODD, but cruelty to animals and others, increased aggression, illegality, and property damage added to the mix.
There are several approaches for the treatment of ODD. Appears to be the most effective parent training to "manage" your child more coherent and more effective. It is usually called "Parent Management Training", or "PMT". A central idea is for parents to seek opportunities to take the child doing something, and praise and reinforce behavior. Moreover, the parent who is trained to ignore Smaller cases of negative behavior that are not really important. Parents are taught that it is not necessary to win every battle, and there are some battles that are not even worth fighting.
Boarding schools or residential treatment is another possibility, if finances permit. Remove the child from the current environment to a center residential where physicians trained and qualified staff can provide round the clock care and counseling, can often work wonders. An internship willingness to involve parents, and work to uncover the underlying problems, and deal with them effectively.
Fortunately, most teens get through all this more or less successful, and grow to become responsible members of society, no matter how improbable, while through it.
