Can I test to see if you have a genetic predisposition for bipolar disorder?
A relative of mine has bipolar disorder was out when her mother died but her siblings and immediate family are so confused because they do not know anyone in your family has a history of disorder bipolar or other mental illness …… I know that you can have the genetic predisposition for this disorder and never … Is there a way to test themselves same
There is no proof, sorry. But tracing family history of mental illness can help you get a better idea of what can develop. My grandmothers and many of my aunts have anxiety problems, my dad and my grandfather had depression, borderline personality disorder and a cousin I have recently been diagnosed BD II. Sometimes a mental illness predisposes a person to another. My cousin and I are the only ones with this diagnosis in the family!
