geodon bipolar

Has anyone heard of Geodon prescribed for mood stabilization? (I'm not schizophrenic or bipolar)?
Hi – any who has had nothing to do with Geodon (especially if you are a doctor or pharmacist …) can tell me what you think of my psychiatrist (3 months) who wish to prescribe Geodon for my mood more stable? I am NOT bipolar, and I'm not schizophrenic. I've been living with clinical depression for nearly 20 years along with generalized anxiety disorder. I've been on several medications for depression and anxiety a couple. This particular doctor has had me on Wellbutrin (I do not think that makes something for me) and Klonopin at night. Now he wants to add Geodon – but I do not understand … I suffer from depression, but never in my life has been manic in any way! Why what to prescribe Geodon? And I take, or change doctors? Thanks!
Geodon is an anti psychotic. Not necessarily a mood stabilizer, although sometimes help with that. Many doctors and geodon, if not cause weight gain and many other anti-psychotic drugs do. Geodon acts as a glue that person maintains a kind of unstable together. It helps with anxiety, impulsiveness, delusions, among other things. The best thing to do is ask your doctor why you prescribed. I take this medicine if you are satisfied with their response. It can help a lot. Good luck!
