help someone bipolar

Could someone explain bipolar disorder and use of Trileptal to treat it?
I went to my doctor today and she doesn't think that depression more. She thinks I have bipolar disorder, but has not really explain it to me. I am a little confused.
Hi Jennifer, I suffer with my bipolar and took me about 3 or 4 years to fight for a diagnosis, I have had several more views of a doctor and never correct, so I'm going to a center based in Solihull and asked to speak with a leading consultant psychiatrist and explained my symptoms. One minute you are what is known as Manic Hyper meaning that are generally rebound walls, rapid speech, grandious ideas, know better than anyone else, spending too much, and then bottomed out with no real down and sink into the depths land. There is no way in a short bipolar, which are never really stable (in the) middle. The best drugs on hand to try to sort which is known as lithium, however, Consultants are wary of giving this as much a murderer and very little going to do anything for you, then there is something called Depakote (Valporate sodium), which is really the next best option which would retain its control manic phases followed by perhaps an antidepressant such as sertraline. You must talk to your doctor about this because must first rule out other things. Hope this helps Paul
