herbal bipolar treatment

Is herbal healing natural better than medication for bipolar?
I was diagnosed bipolar a while and I wonder if there are other ways treatment and, if there is no cure for bipolar disorder.
There is no cure for bipolar disorder (BPD). Like other mental disorders can be passed by periods of being better or worse, but never completely disappear. Herbal treatments are not the best line of defense against DBP, because they do not address the root problem, which is an imbalance in brain chemistry. St. John's Wort is sometimes used to treat depression and may be modestly effective, and other herbs such as passionflower, and kava kava are sometimes used, but none of them is a good treatment of a disorder such as BPD. mood stabilizers like lithium and Depakote are usually used to treat BPD, as they are usually most effective. Nobody is really sure how mood stabilizers work, except that somehow alter the chemistry the brain and do what their name suggests … stabilize mood. Lithium was discovered by chance, but a salt and added to table salt (as well as the 7up, back in the 1940s), until scientists began to notice the positive effects it had on the mood. More research was to salt, and inadvertently discovered a drug that, for reasons still unknown to this day really proved to be an effective treatment for manic depression and high low BPD. If mood stabilizers do not work sometimes, antidepressants (SSRIs) are used, especially in people with bipolar disorder II, which is defined as minima bpd depression with manic episodes and much less intense. Therapy is also an important part of treatment for BPD, and in combination, psychotherapy and medication is the best way to treat the disease and live a happy and productive life.
