1. Lack of empathy toward others. Your husband may not be able to step into the shoes of the "other person". This can lead to behavior that is insensitive and selfish.
2. A grandiose sense of self worth. This is not just a big ego, but a false construct. Your husband may exaggerate their achievements beyond its merits.
3. A sense of entitlement. Your husband can expect preferential treatment and accept it as something natural.
4. Idealized fantasy. Your husband may be obsessed with ideas about the "perfect" love, beauty and power. Initially, it may be lifted on a pedestal but sooner or later disappoint you and is likely to be cast aside as worthless and disposable, with little in between.
5. An arrogant and superior attitude toward the others. Your husband may feel like it should be associated with "special" people and institutions.
6. A desire or need for excessive admiration of others. This has been termed "narcissistic supply" and is very similar to a drug that her husband may crave and take steps to achieve.
7. A tendency toward envy of others, and envy in their achievements. Your husband may even become enraged to hear of the successes of others.
8. A willingness to exploit others for their own benefit. Your husband may be comfortable with the idea of stepping on others to get ahead.
