Will I lose my girlfriend when I say that I'm bipolar?
I've been with my girlfriend for over a year. We are both 23. I tell her everything, but there is a which is not said, I'm bipolar. My mom says if I tell my girlfriend that I will lose. I do not know what to do …. I really do not want to lose, but I can not keep this in secret forever either.
I vote for being totally honest with her. I agree to be compatible with their medicines because it would have been a behavior strange by now. Do you see a therapist that she may be able to speak with you to help you understand your diagnosis? Otherwise, if she goes online to read about which may scare her. Being bipolar does not mean you can not lead a productive life so that is the message that you need to make clear. good luck.
