Are there different degrees of severity in bipolar disorder?
I read a couple books by Kay Jamison (A Unquiet Mind and Night Falls Fast) and I impression that there are great variations in the severity of the disorder, ranging from mood swings, unpredictable, dangerous, out of control behavior. Is this correct? I've only ever met one person with him, and only I know more about BP's what I've read in books of Jamison.
Definitely YES! I know several people with the disorder. Some are "normal", while others are not helped much with drugs. And others are on medication and therapy and seem to do very well.
