lithium drug bipolar
Does anyone take both Lithium and Epilim for bipolar treatment? ?
I’ve been taking Lithium for 7 months now for hypo-mania/rapid cycling bi-polar depression… as of this week he has added Epilim into my little drug cocktail. Was wondering if anyone else is on this combination and what are your results? Any side effects? Positive outcomes? Just need some support

Hi. I take both along with Lamictal. I was on Lamictal and Lithium before Depakote (Epilim), but couldn’t shake the rapid cycling. Dep really reduced the cycling and made a big difference. In that way, I love Depakote. Side effects-wise, meh, not so good. For the first few months I lost a lot of hair and had a funny smell. I’ve gained about 20 lbs, too. Six months later, the side effects have stopped or reduced a lot. I still cycle a little but don’t want to raise the dose for fear of more side effects. The cycling may win out soon, though. I am tired of the never ending ride. Anyway, for rapid cycling, Depakote has proved very good for me. Everyone does not get the side effects, so hopefully it will be nicer to you in that regard than it has been to me.
