mixed states bipolar

Has anyone else stuck in bipolar mixed state (mixed moods) for long periods of time? What worked?
I been trapped in a mixed state (mania and depression, agitated depression, ie, dysphoric mania) for years, and can not take it anymore. I'm trying to find the hospital space at a university hospital because psychiatrists in my rural area I have no idea what else to try. I wonder nobody ever well? * What has worked? * Details: Me Lamictal and lithium, low doses that help a maybe little, and can not tolerate more. I have serious side effects of most medications and constipation, which can not go longer than 10 days and have to stop the MED, or go psychotic internal unrest grows lot, almost falling to the floor because I am so sedated, they become aggressive, so I'm probably a "poor metabolizers" which is a genetic inability to process drugs (and many more psychiatric medications fall into this category. 10% of whites have this problem). I've had plenty of advice. No doubt about my diagnosis. It used to be classic bipolar. Thank you!
Well, anyone who says all you have to do is think differently, of course, has not existed in a mixed state for long. When I first heard the term "mixed state" and the accompanying definition I was elated that everything I had been trying to tell the doctors were there and I was not so crazy after all. Or at least not only, eh? You also can not take large dose of anything, and I suppose it must have this genetic predisposition. When I was on 60 mg of Navane thought I was crazy side effects, regardless of disease mental. Now I take Topamax, Wellbutrin and 100 to 300 mg of Seroquel. It's a great combination for me. The only thing I really like the Seroquel is that really can play with the dose and the doctor knows that I do, but it's one of those I take 100 mg. a while, and then some, I'm having problems, then more, then less, and is not necessary call him because I know what I need. Topamax is known as "stupimax" because sometimes it makes me stupid, but stupid state vs. mixed, I go stupid. Wellbutrin is the antidepressant that I sent through the roof. Prozac – Wow! I was a raving lunatic in that area. Wellbutrin, but it was good for me. Seroquel makes some people fat, but has the opposite effect topamax what is good, too. I have a lot of energy. Some people take as little as 25 mg of Seroquel. My husband who also is bipolar, and Seroquel are saved her life as I am concerned, but he has earned a lot of weight. So good luck. I know how difficult it is when you give a small dose and you hors de combat. But I had 25 hospitalizations, and none since this drug regimen, six years.
