How to tell the difference between bipolar disorder in adolescents or just normal hormones?
I've heard it can be very difficult to diagnose. but what is the determining factor?
determining factor tends to be time: teenage hormones will cause fluctuations in a time scale of hours minutes /. changes bipolar mood occur for weeks / months. Also, the severity of mood swings helps the diagnosis and the presence of the specifiers (like hallucinations) also differeentiate help.
