private health insurance bipolar

Bipolar disorder – Insurance health discrimination – conscience?
As a bipolar person has been successfully medicated with lithium for several other years and takes great care of himself that makes me "crazy" as in most states, bipolar disorder is an automatic decline with health insurance (for private policies.) It is seen as an uninsurable pre-existing condition like many other physical problems (And yes of bipolar disorder is a physical basis). What bothers me even more is that people seem completely unaware that this discrimination continues with our health insurance companies. I believe there is a voice out there for the millions of people affected by mental health disorders health insurance discrimination. Does Anyone know of any groups that may be involved in raising awareness of this problem (apart from the Congress in writing in relation to the parity of the regular representatives mental health )???? legislation Thanks!
