Exorcism or mental disorder?

My friend has been having many problems lately. He left the hospital today, and no hard drugs were found in his system. It was amazing and it has been violent and irregular floor and shouting random things. However, it also has been telling everyone that he has renewed his faith in God and has been constantly quoting Scripture. It was Baker acted, and will be in a mental health center for the next 3 days. (Everything was much more dramatic than I'm explaing that is, I just want to be brief) Many church members believe that it is fighting a demon who is fighting with him because of his renewed faith in God. However, his father is bipolar, so it looks like it could be too. Any ideas? (The drugs found in his system was the pot and something with an opiate in it.)

He has a first degree family member with a mental disorder (although not one completely the same as yours) which may suggest genetic predisposition. Stress (who had problems?) Is often a trigger for mental disorders. Given a particular gene, drugs, such as a boat can greatly increase your chances an episode of schizophrenia (which only studied schizophrenia, to my knowledge – I do not know what your friend has. And if you do not have this gene, which is fine with boat). And if he is a member of the church, or familliar with the terminology of the church, this may be intertwined with their delusions (external experiences, especially the strong or unusual, can influence people's delusions. Among the schizophrenic children, vampires are a common illusion. This does not mean that vampires are real.) This sounds like a mental disorder, and therapy psychatrists will use more of exorcism.
