How long is the bipolar disorder is a disease? Never heard which related to a disease and I've been diognosed bipolar disorder for four years.
The disease is only a word. I personally prefer the disease. The word makes me angry is "crazy." Those of us with mental illness are not "crazy" or "nuts" are different or wrong. They use the word because bipolar disorder has a medical cause, brain chemistry malfunction. It also has a genetic component of disease that many do. In fact, tagging is a disease that can be for our benefit. A disease is to improve the treatment of insurance companies. Now if we can convince them that not a mental illness of his disease but a disease more similar to epilepsy or a neurological disorder perhaps those of us who can not work full time can get better coverage.
