Controlling Bipolar Disorder?
Flip flop I've come and gone, trying to decide whether to take medication for bipolar disorder or trying to control so natural. I have to admit I have not had much success, but I feel I'm doing much better than it was a year ago. So I was wondering if anyone has had any success with those living with the disease without medication. And if so what have you tried? Meditation? Spirituality? (Please, not Christianity simply does not work for me) Herbs? Exercise? I also saw the St. John's wort is used to help control it, but I read that can cause extreme manic episodes. Anyone to try and if so is that true thanks? In advance!
i think you should take your medication if you trust the doctor, ask around, do some research online, I have bipolar disorder and social anxiety and the medication helps you and the music, and pilates and sweating your ass off lift weight all that helps, but you do not even think about these things when you're having a full manic episodes, as we're spending money, shopping, getting drunk, have sex with people, whatever you do I mean? St. John's wort calmed me down but I got this pain in my stomach and I was pissing blood for a day, let taking it and that was perhaps it was just me, but I used to recommend. vitamins that are good for brain function are ginseng, omega oil, fish Bilova ginkgo, garlic pills and anything with B-12 on it. again, this all works better if you are on your meds, believe me. change doctors if not I like this or do not trust him, once he was given the prescription check online and other physicians for more information. and therapy, psychotherapy best invention ever! I hope that helped a fellow bipolar sister, lol Luna
