ssi bipolar disorder
Should I be on disability that bipolar disorder and diabetes?
I'm 30 and have suffered with bipolar disorder and anxiety for many years. I've been seeing a psychiatrist along, and tips. They also suffer from OCD. Recently I learned that I am a type 2 diabetes. My level of blood sugar is controlled, but I'm seeing an endocrinologist and a diabetes educator. It had to be removed from my bipolar medication until my blood sugar is low control, so for now I'm just in terms of Klonopin to help with anxiety. I submitted to SSI, and I'm waiting for my audience .. (I have a lawyer too). I hear my in-laws that I'm lazy. I wish you could understand my situation, but I can not explain them. They are still trying to convince my wife that I leave because they feel worthless. What should I do?
I do not know much about disability, but I know about diabetes. Many Psych Drugs have been implicated as a cause of type 2 diabetes weight gain typically associated with them. Please consider talking with your Endo to put his Bi-polar disorder and treatment first of the derivatives of blood sugar. If his mental problems are not addressed, how in the world can expect that your medical team you have the drive to get your diabetes under control? It is difficult for others to understand the illness, in general, not to mention mental illness. Talk to your doctor and see if your computer back on medicines and just take extra diabetes medication (insulin would probably be the best option) until you fix things. Sorry about the in-laws. Your health comes first. I hope his wife is supportive. Seeing a diabetes educator, and possibly a dietitian for medical nutrition therapy would be a very useful thing to do. People with Type 2 diabetes are able to get off the medication, including insulin, if they get their health in full … Good luck! Cindy
