ssi disability bipolar disorder
I've been collecting unemployment while working out, I'm a temp.?
On 8/10/06 I was finally diagnosed correctly (I hope) for the first time in my life with bipolar disorder. I spent the last 18 years thinking I was depressed because that's what the doctors told me. My employer denied me unemployment (after two months of receiving benefits) as appealed but that could take up to 8 weeks to reverse. I applied for SS disability and SSI as my doctor I said it should not work, while the transition to a new medicine. My manager called the next day and offered me a temporary job that is 4 months long. I'm crying all day, explosive or extremely angry and feel I can do the job. If I refuse the job, my unemployment claim is out the window. If I take work, my application for disability is zero and would have to start over. I am also afraid to take the job because he can not commit to being there every day and time or get listed and addressing a supervisor or something. Any suggestions?
In fact, it seems that your employer is fully aware that deny accepting the job offer will void your unemployment benefits. What an idiot. Im sorry I do not have a definitive answer for you. I know that with the SS and SSI, automatically deny his first claim. It take a while before starting, if they do at all. Its all about saving money, unfortunately. They hope people give up before they have to give the money we have already won … go figure. I think his decision is based around how long you can go w / or income. Benes unemployment are only temporary. If possible, try to resist for SSI. I wish her well.
