Can I be denied a job because I have a mental illness?
past diagnosis was bipolar with psychosis. Now I know what your thinking because all the stigma but I manage it quite well. Anyway, I've made it through tests and interviews for a position with the Sheriff's Department. Now all I need to do is get a physical and psychological, and after that, I will be hired. This is a test and interview questions, one of the questions I have to meet today asks if I saw a psychiatrist before. I am very concerned that the doctor will tell you that i cannot work because of my mental illness. Can they do that? Even if I do well in the questionnaire and interview, can you say no based on what I'm labeled as? I'm so scared I deny this.
Being bipolar is not excluded unless you can not handle situations. The test questions are very much the same, only reversed order twice and is expected to respond in the same way to each question. Also a survey of hate, and so is the Inventory Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Test (MMPI) testing. See Wikipedia: MMPI for different forms of the test.
