What can you tell me about Trileptal?
I have OCD and bipolar II or either major depression. (A definitive diagnosis has not been done.) Volume Prozac and Klonopin for OCD and depression, but the Prozac makes me very hyper (which is why I think it could actually have bipolar II). My doctor just added the mix of Trileptal. I heard they are supposed to be good for OCD and Bipolar, and have fewer side effects than Tegretol, which made me exhausted. Any comments? Thank you. Hi, Sara, my doctor, who actually are trusted not sure if I'm bipolar. If I am, is very mild bipolar caused by Prozac. I have SEVERE OCD and Prozac is the best drugs for him, I had the most success with – but it makes me hypomanic. That's why we are on the Trileptal, and see if they can help balance out. As a bipolar person, who spent years getting their medications resolved, I'm afraid I have a question and not an answer. Why is your doc giving Prozac when research shows that antidepressants like this do not help and may trigger depresssion bipolar mania? Finally, Why not try to lithium – remains the gold standard for bipolar? I understand that no side efects and has ben the only thing that helped me – pretty obvious given their history and research and the overwhelming evidence about it. check out the links below and come back and talk to your doctor. The bitter experience has taught me that the finding the right doc is more important than getting the right medicine if one really wants to get well. Good luck and stay strong.
