Do you keep your promises?

Business owners and entrepreneurs never intended to fail. In fact, the road to success should not include failure an option. (Contingency Plans, sure, but only as an alternative route to success.) All of us at some point in making promises to ourselves, our families, our mentors that we will persevere. We will succeed. The real proof is in their level of commitment to those promises.

What commitments are have made for yourself? Your family? Has achieved the goals it has set for today, this week, month, year?

Prioritization and-a-year commitment are key.

This reminds me of a story of a professor of philosophy and its final exam. Once the students entered the room of classes and took their seats, the teacher addressed the class and offers the promise

"Anyone who decides to opt for the test today and leaves the room and Automatic "B" grade for this course. "With much applause and dragging bags of books and chairs, many of the students thanked the teacher, signed their acceptance of their offer and left the room. He repeated the offer for the remaining handful of students. Another student picked up his things, he signed and left. The professor closed the door, registered names in the few and said, "Thank you for believing in you. By the way who are students of the course. My students. and for their commitment and determination, which each receive an 'A'. "

The line between excellence and mediocrity is a fine. Often, the choice that defines our position not accompanied by a bell tolling.

Your daily choices and commitment to see through the options, determine what feature you are willing to accept.

Do you hear the little devil on your shoulder that says, "Take the day off, you've earned it. You can achieve tomorrow."? I do not mean you must be enclosed in a room, away from friends and family, and work 24×7. You need to enjoy work-life balance. In the big picture, what Is you working?

Those who believe in themselves and build the "road less traveled" end building successful businesses and enjoy a lifestyle sustainable – way beyond mediocre.

In the time give to the little voice, leaning over the tendency of the masses, NAY-Sayers Dam friends and family, that is when linked with the "B" Kids in the Hall.

Know your level of commitment.

You will face many opportunities for accept the second best. Ask yourself, do you have confidence in their ability to get out of the crowd, to make a difference? Will you stay in the seat when the "B" degree is offered?

Now, I apologize if this allegory dredges up bad images of the school day. Your ability to succeed today has nothing to do with their previous grade point average. Let me emphasize that. If you are dissatisfied with their academic record and allow his memory to limit your ability to have successful, then the little voice has done its job and you're standing in the hallway. Put the story behind you and use it to fuel your desire! Find a teacher … [ok, analogies aside] … a mentor to help you discover the leader that you know is within you.

Rededicate yourself to your dreams. Define clearly, daily, weekly, monthly and keep them targets. That are realistic. You need not go out and breathe fresh air once and awhile.

We will close with a favorite quote from Ralph Waldo Emerson. "What lies behind us and what is before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us."
